Hi, fellows:

I submitted my J1 application on July 12th. At the time, the processing date in the J1 change status category at the Nebraska centre is April 12. So theoretically, it would take 90 days to process my application. My OPT would expire on Aug 18th and I can use the 60-day grace period after that. If, somehow, my case is still pending after the grace period, can I legally stay in US or I have to leave the country immediately.
