Passport renewal problem, help! 18thStreet2006-07-17 17:15:49

I heard from 2007 all the Chinese passport could not be renewed. Is that true? My passport will expire in March, 2007. What is the best way to get a new Chinese passport in the US.
The background info is:
1. I have no plan to visit China in 2 years
2. I want to maintain a legal status in the US
3. I am a student with F1 visa
4. I will apply for a green card soon, so I suppose I will need a valid passport for another 3-4 years.

I think 到期换新护照,或者只延期一次

it's easy, just mail your passport to chinese consulate or drive

去相应的中国大使馆“换发”新护照----而不是“延期”。
