我已经out of status了吗? H1->F1 innocence 文学城

我于今年4月初递交了I-539申请H1->F1, 因为我的H1-b于6月30日过期，所以按照 I-20上的summer B 从7月初开始在学校注册上课了。7月底收到了USCIS的补件通知。本以为自己属于合法的pending身份，现在突然被学校通知开学30天后仍没有F1 Approval notice，将不能以有效的F1 身份在SEVIS上 register，所以学校将更改 I-20 的start date到Fall。。。我无语。。。I-20的日期一改，6月30日以来的这段时间我就out of status了，原来 I-539 的补件也没用了！

真是冤哪！请教坛子里的朋友，现在除了离境到第三国签证以外，我还有什么其他选择吗？any suggestion is appreciated!
