1.My I140(LC,EB2) was pending in Vermont more than 6 months. Is it possible that they simply lost my paper?

2. An attorney told me if we write letter to ask about it, it could offend the officer and even make things worse. They might ask for RFE because we bother them. Is it true?

3. What is the longest pending time for I 140?
