I need help to decide if I can change job and if there is anything wrong with my case. My NIW was filed with USCIS on Aug. 2004, which is still pending. On Sept. 2004, I filed I-485, still pending. Then on Dec. 2004, I filed another I-140 on outstanding researcher, which was approved on Feb. 2005. My lawyer (the 1st one) said I did not need to file another I-485 for outstanding researcher petition and I could change jobs after 180 days.

Now I have a very good job offer, and I asked my lawyer (the 2nd one, the first one left) to be sure. Surprisingly, he strongly recommends staying with my current job and filing second I-485, as the first I-485 has nothing to do with my approved I-140 petition on outstanding researcher.

Can anybody give me any suggestions or information? Can I change job without affecting my applications? Or more, am I in trouble on the NIW and I-485 applications?

Thanks a lot in advance.

You may change your job with an EAD base on first I-485

You'd better file a new I-485 base on EB1b asap ,after filing
