I am a green card holder. I may stay out of USA over 6 monthes. Many friends told me to apply a re-entry permit if it is over 6 monthes. But the I131 form states it is not necessary if the applicant stays out of USA within one year. I don't know which one is correct. Experienced people or experts please give me suggestions. Many thanks.
