Started green card application in September 2002, LC/EB3. LC was stuck in the BEC until 2006. I-140 was approved in 2006 as well.

While my LC was in the BEC, I applied for the NIW in September 2005, filed I-140 and I-485 concurrently. Since the LC based I-140 was approved, I withdrew the NIW I-140 and transferred the I-485 to the LC based I-140.

Got an RFE for medical exam (my I-485 was prepared in a hurry in order to beat the Oct. 1, 2005 deadline and did not have enough time to include the medical result in the original application package). Returned the medical to USCIS in November 2006. Since then, no further update and I have no other choice but waiting.

My question is:

When the PD becomes current, will the USCIS just approval the green card application (provided that the background check has been cleared)? Is there any chance that they will re-examine my files and ask for any additional documents such as tax return forms, pay-stubs, etc?

I tried calling the USCIS 800 number several times to find out whether my background check has been cleared. No luck. Is there any other option to find where do I stay in that process?

Appreciate your help!
