what is the purpose of LUD daichiba 文学城

If I am not wrong, LUD stands for Last update. I did my biometric on Dec 26, 2006, and when I login the USCIS tracking system, it shows my I-485 last update is Jan 02, 2007. what is that mean? b/s I do not see any content changes with my I-485. btw, my I-140 was approved on Dec 7, 2006, and that case has last update on Jan 1, 2007. why they have updated the I-140 case even is approved while ago.
Anyone can provide some clues or your experience?
