I’m currently working on F1 EAD, and just expired this week. I can not acquire H1 from my current employer, but I do have EAD from 485.

Here is the dilemma, we have filed 140 and 485 application in 2005 and pending for the final approval of 140 after RFE (theoretically should be very soon, hopefully in days if not by weeks). So my question is: should I update my employer the EAD from 485 now, or should I just keep quiet for now and pray/wait for the approval of 140?? What's the policy on this issue after the expiration of F1 EAD?
