首先，不是从移民报到的时间起算?? It should account from the date of landing per my understanding
其次，也不是从拿到枫叶卡的时间起算。
法律规定，五年的时间段，只能从您每次打算进入加拿大国境的那天（或是您提出枫叶卡的申请的那天）起算，倒数回去五年。只要您能证明在这个五年段的时间里，您通过以上所说的三种办法之一，满足住满两年的要求，就没有问题了。
例如，某人是1997年移民报到的。2003年10月，获得了枫叶卡。如果此人在2004年7月回加拿大时，移民官要问的问题是，从2004年7月起算，倒数回去五年，是否有住满两年。（???移民官不是从此人获得枫叶卡的日期开始，即从2003年10月开始，往后计算，算到2008年7月，要求此人在此段时间内住满两年的???).
