5. USCIS Changes Expedite Policy Related to FBI Name Checks.
USCIS has changed its policy with respect to FBI name checks and will no
longer request an expedite based solely on the filing of a mandamus action,
but may continue to request an expedited FBI name check if the case meets
one of several approved criteria. Expedites may still be requested for
military deployment, certain age-out cases, significant and compelling
reasons (such as critical medical conditions), and loss of social security
benefits or other subsistence at the USCIS District Directorâ?Ts discretion.
