That certainly got your attention, didn't it? Of course I was kidding (or dreaming) because if you've been following Visa bulletins then you know that priority dates for either categories have barely budged in the past few months.

One thing is for sure - there is so much backlog of visa numbers that "waiting it out" will certainly NOT help; the only thing that can work is legislation that either increases permanent immigration visa numbers drastically or removes the concept of priority dates for knowledge based workers. And how does legislation get passed in the US? If you've been following the lawmaking process even a little bit, then you probably already know that only lobbying moves important laws in the US Congress.

That is why, the approach taken by Immigration Voice, the only organization working for knowledge based work visas becomes critical. It is the organization I know which has hired lobbyists in Washington DC and is making an effort to convince lawmakers on the importance of reforming the visa process for knowledge based workers.

People behind Immigration Voice are people like you and me and they need money to get their efforts going. If immigration reform is important to you, then please consider contributing to them. They now have a monthly contribution facility and you could contribute as low as $20/month - for the price of 3 McDonald's meals or 5 Starbucks latte, you will be helping people who are working hard for all of us.

Please visit http://www.immigrationvoice.org, become a member and make recurring contributions because hope is not a strategy and neither is keeping your fingers crossed when the next Visa bulletin containing priority dates gets delivered to your mail box.
