Thanks in advance for your help.
I am thinking resign from my current job to go back to school. I already have had admission. My situation is that my first 3 year H-1B will expire in early July. The lawyer just file H-1B extention and told me it will take about 6 months to get formal approval. Will it cause troulbe if I file status change to INS in July or August but before I get the formal approval for H-1B extention? Or should I file status change befor my current H1 status expires. I heard the status change request can take 2+ months to get processed.

The other related question is that my company is just starting filing labor certificate for me, if I request a status change to F1, will the LC application interfer adversely with it? Should I stop the LC application now.

This is a big decision for me, all your input is highly appreciated, the more detail the better. Thanks again.
