I recently got a RFE letter from USCIS requesting me to get an original letter from the police department district where I have lived within the past 5 years stating my status with this department, also ask me to fill in a Record of Sworn Statment (fingerprint) with immigration office's signature and authorization of the sworn.

Does anybody waiting for I-485 decision have any experience like this to share? What does this mean? Is this just a part of regular I-485 procedure or something wrong with my case?

Below is the status of my case:

April, 2004 filed I-485 and other benefit application based on family (marriage)

January. 2005 got the first interview at local office and went througth the interview smoothly. The officer said that they will issue me my green card once my security checking with FBI got cleared.

Waiting until now, had made 3 inquires to USCIS and got mail response stating that my case is pending due to the FBI security checking not done yet...

Then I got this letter requesting RFE of sworn statement and the original letters from the police dept... I am very concerned and confused. Is this a good sign or bad sign or have no meaning at all? Does this indicate that my FBI security checking is cleared or it does not related?

Could anybody give me some hint or suggestions? Thanks a million!!!
