Why do we need to apply for EAD if we have H1B slappy2007-06-14 22:15:30

I am just curious, if both hu*****and and wife have H1B, what advantage do we get by applying for EAD?

Can we file I-485 first and then apply EAD and Advanced Parole later when we need to go back to China?

If somebody lost job, can he apply for H4 to keep legal status and then apply H1B again?
