I reviewed an article for a Journal. I try to request a verification letter from the editor. His reply follows:
Why is it that the letter thanking you for the review is not adequate? If I take the letter of thanks and print it and sign it will that make it more authentic? Also, we do not have formal requirements for reviewers, but the idea is that you are a recognized active member of the community of research in the area you were asked to serve as a reviewer.
Please advise. I will be happy to send a signed version of the letter of thanks and perhaps a short letter acknowledging that you are indeed a valued reviewer for the journal.
