I am an expectant first-time mom whose parents are over 80 years old. While my due day is in Nov and there is no way for my parents to come to the States to take care of me after the childbirth, I am thinking of having my hu*****and's parents come here to give us an extra hand.
However, here is the awkward situation:
1. My hu*****and came here with a B-1 visa and a business passport quite a long time ago. He then decided to stay here and transferred to an F-1 visa after a while. Now he is a green-card holder with an expired Chinese business passport and a recently issued traveling document by Chinese Consulate in New York which allows him to eventually go back to China to visit his family.
2. He has been in the States for about 10 years and never went back to China and he just got his green card last year. His parents have never come to the States before to visit him because he doesn't have a valid Chinese passport (Oh, his father did come to the States once for business and that was before my hu*****and came to the States)
My questions are then:
1. Is it possible for him to invite his parents over without a valid Chinese passport?
2. Is it possible for me to invite my parents-in-law to the States? I have a much better history than my hu*****and. I came here with a f-1 visa and now are under a h-1b visa and have been back to China 3 times since I come to the States.
3. Which option has the better success rate?
Sorry that I am a little desperate here. Any of your experience or opinion will be highly appreciate. Thanks a lot in advance!
