Dear Xiaobaitu and other experts,
I am exploring the possibility of joining another US based employer for a similar position as the one I have now. Since my I-485 application has been pending for more than two years, normally it shouldn't be a problem. However, the catch here is that the first assignment of this new position, which can last for a year or two, will be in China. Therefore my questions are:
1. Do you foresee any issues/obstacles with the approval of my application under such a circumstance?
2. What are the necessary and nice-to-have documents I should request from the new employer? For example, letter from employer indicating that the salary is paid out of the US entity and the assignment is a temporary one, etc.
3. Do you know of any of your friends that have been under a similar circumstance and what were their experiences?
I have searched this website on this topic, but have not found what I am looking for. I would really appreciate your help and input!
