Regarding H4 holder's I-94 number, my understanding is H4 holder's I-94 number is the same as H1B holder's. When H4 enters USA, although there is a number on I-94 card, that number is not assigned to H4 holder. Instead, USCIS will track H4 holder based on H1B holder's I-94#.
I filed some applicaitons with the above understanding for my wife (H4 holder) and got no problem. Now my lawyer said I was wrong and my wife should use that number on her I-94 card.
If you are familiar with this issue, could you please let me know which number is correct? I guess my lawyer is right, but I really did what I said in some previous applicaitons. does it mean both numbers are fine?
