This is just a very initial plan, I am even not sure if it's doable:
I am F-1(from China) in U.S rite now and will apply for PhD program very soon. My G.F (from TW) already finished her OPT this month and went back due to family crisis. Before she left, she got the approval of H-1B which will start Oct this year. However, she had to quit the job so we assume she won't have H-1B although her lawyer suggested she will be fine if she can get hired by another company before Oct. We believe the chance for that will be very low since she is oversea right now and it's impossible for the employers to have an interview with her and they don't wanna take the risk.
Our plan is that we wanna get married in US (probably she can enter into US with a visiting visa) after I officially get into the PhD program and have adequate income. Then she can go back to TW and try to apply for F-2 visa. After that she can remain in US and find a job (at least will have more opportunity to look for a job and interview), then change the visa type~~~
My concern is if the slightly complicated marriage relationship( China vs. TW, getting married is US then go back~~~) will bring any potential problem of getting F-2 visa. Thanks for the help!
