Hi:
I have currently in H-1B status which will expire on Aug 2008.(reach to six year limit) I already had I-140 approved on Dec 06, at the same time I had submitted my I-485. so far, I have both my EAD and AP. They are going to expired on Feb 08. so far, I would like to work for another company. I know under the portability rule, I can switch my job after filed I-485 for 180 days. however, I am not sure, what should I do before to quit the current job. like do I have to inform USCIS about job changing? Can I still switch my H-1B since still have one year left (I dont have H-1 quota problem)? Can I still renew my H-1B beyond six year? (b/s I do not want to use my EAD, I would like to play safe) Can I renew my EAD and AP even with new company? I saw many people switched job after filed i-485, when it is my turn, I am kind of hesitate to make such move....
anyone have suggestions? based on the current backlog situation in USCIS, I have not hope when the GC will come in soon.
