I got my H1B work visa two months ago. My visa petitioner was a famous and big library, because my pay check is from this library (my attorney said whoever paid me should be the petitioner). However, I actually have been working for a nonprofit company, which provides database, pc maintenance, and other technology to this library. There are about 15 full time staff including me and 14 part-time support center personnel working for this company.

My company does not pay us directly; all of us are counted as employees of the library and the library gives us paychecks. Each year, the company reimburses the library with our salary and benefits.

Starting from the end of this year, my company will be completely separated from the library, which means the company will pay us directly, not from the library any more. My company will still remain as nonprofit and have a tax number. I wonder in my case, do I need to do a H1B transfer? If yes, Can I do by myself?

Thank you!!
