老师说，
“Because he left the country before his H-1 extension petition is approved，such petition is regarded abandoned“。
现在回来后拿到了 approve notice (实际上是在国内期间批的），那如何知道这个批准是否有效呢？
另外回来入关时基于 H-1 （没有 AP) 的 I-94 已经去CBP 延了，这样是否就可以了？

his such petition is regarded abandoned.
If his last entry was under H-1, he will receive an I-94 with same number. There is no such thing that an I-94 becomes invalid because of its number being used/submitted.
He can not renew/extend his I-94.
When he goes to Canada, that would be a good chance for him to apply a new H-1 visa using his H-1 extension approval notice.
In case his H-1 extension approval notice is available to him before he enters US, he may try to use it at the customs. When CBP officer makes a mistake, I-94 may be stamped a longer stay period.

LG的 H1 延期批准时，人在中国，他回来入境时 I-94 的有效期是 H-1 延期批准前的有效期。这样 H-1 延期批准上的 I-94 是不是就无效了，因为这个号码已经在出境时上交了。现在的问题是：
这个 H-1 延期是否有效？要重新申请 H-1 延期吗？
还是申请延期 I-94 （入境时给的那张）? 如何申请？可以去当地机场海关吗？ 还是要寄到 移民局？
另外，他将在第一个 H-1 过期前半个月去加拿大，可以在回来时在机场入关时，要求把 I-94 延期到新 H-1 有效期吗？
