My friend started working for a new company last Nov. He held H1-B in previoud company and the attorney of the new company filed H1-B transfer for him. However, my friend just noticed that the starting date of his H1-B under the new company is Febuary 2007 instead of November 2006, the date he started working for the new company. Will he be in trouble with working for a company for almost 4 months without a valid H1-B? Is it illegal? He tried to contact the company attorney, but hasn't heard anything.
