The US senate Foreign relation committee held a hearing on Tibet, in which only one-sided story is presented.
I submitted my comment through the web to Senator Boxer

Please write your version to the Subcommittee, especially on XiZang's history and why Westerns should stop interfere with internal affairs of China.
To Foreign Relation Subcommittee
Senator Boxer: Please forward this message on to the Foreign Relation Subcommittee.
I am a Chinese citizen living in the United States, happened to watch the last part of your hearing on Tibet, most of which were your questioning Mr. Lobsang Sangay.
Senator Boxer asked what are most Chinese people’s attitudes toward Tibetan people recently and whether Chinese people are more hostile against Tibetan. Mr. Sangay did not directly answer your question. He instead suggested that Chine government always tells “one-sided” story. As a Chinese citizen who reads Chinese (I don’t know whether Mr. Sangay reads Chinese) who reads many Chinese people’s views on Tibet over the web, I believe I can directly answer your question instead of only talking about Chinese Government. Most Chinese feel like Tibetans are part of a big family of 56 nations. We treat them (not them, they are part of us) as our brothers and sisters. If there were any hostility among Chinese people recently, the hostility is against Western media such as CNN, who (we believe) distorted the most recent riot, and some western governments such as German and France who (intentionally) linked politics with the Olympics. From what I read from the web, I can tell most Chinese people think Western Governments only listen to the one-sided stories by Dalai Lama and his supporters, and there is evidence that Dalai Lama is supported by CIA, which tainted his credibility as a spiritual leader. One piece of evidence that Westerns only listen to one-sided story is that in your committee hearing, there is no voice which supports other versions of account on the recent crisis in Tibet. The most popular versions I have heard and viewed is that it started out as a riot and police hesitated to stop the riot for fear of attracting attention from Western media and being accused of suppression until it is a little too late, until shops are robbed, until houses burned and people of the Han nation are killed. This is one piece of evidence that foreign intervention in Chinese affairs has negative effects on stability, peace and development of democracy in China. By this argument alone, I urge the committee to consider legislation on showing more respect to China and stop interfering with Chinese affairs.
Last but not the least, the name Tibet is incorrect. It should be Xizang.
Best Regards,
