To transfer from J1 to F1, easer in US or China? Cuety2008-05-09 21:36:10

I am here on J1, but my J1 is going to expire in July. Right now, I have been admitted to a US university. Can I change my status from J1 to F1? Is it better if I change status here in the states? Or is it better if I go back to China change my status?
