When I applied for PERM the job title is "senior financial analyst", and the SOC code is 12-2051. Later I moved up to a senior position within the company, but now it's winding down the business. I interviewed a job as "controller" 2 months ago. The business manager tend to extend the offer, but after consulting with their lawyer, their lawyer thought controller will be in a different SOC code, probably 13-2011. The business manager said they can't overule the lawyer's decision, so I didn't get the offer. I have let it go, but I am just wondering can I apply for accounting manager, fiannce manager or controller job, as they will be in different SOC code than my original Perm job SOC code though they are all in the same "13-0000 Business and Financial Operations Occupations" category?
