I was laid off in June under H-1B. So I immediately filed I-539 changed to F-2. In early August I got an offer so I used premium process to file for a new H-1B. I just got I-797C Approval notice for my H-1B. However, there is no I-94 number/card on this new H1B approval notice. Do I have to go outside U.S. (China, Mexico or Canada) to get an H-1 visa to activate 激活my H-1b status?

I heard only I-797B approval notice needs to go outside U.S. to get H-1B visa stamp. But I am I-797C approval notice. Is there any difference in between I-797B and I-797C?

If I 不用出境激活my H-1 visa this time, where to get my new I-94 card? Can I still use my old I-94 card when I depart US later on?

Many Thanks

Yes, you can, once your H1B renewal application is mailed out
