Hi, I came to the states on 98. What a loser, still waiting for GC.
I started my master from 1/98, and finished on 5/00. Then, i moved on in the same university for PHD on 8/00. But my master's i-20's ending date is 12/99. My PHD's i-20's starting date is 8/00. RFE wants me to submit the evidence that I maitained nonimmgration status from 12/99 to 8/00. I know that current regulation requires us to extend I-20 before it expired. But before 9/11, what I heard is Depend on Study (D/S) is good enough. To respond the RFE, I need to know 100% sure that D/S is good enough when I did my masters. Please provide the sources and your suggestions.
