I went the local USCIS office this morning and share some info with other who may be interested in.
The reason I requested this infopass is to ask about 1) my 485 stutus; 2) if I can relink my 485 (originally based on an approved NIW 140) to my newly approved EB1A I-140
The office was very nice ( so far from what I can tell). I first asked him what is going on with my I-485. He then looked at his computer and told me my 485 has been pre-adjudicated this April and now is in the pipeline for final processing (don't know what that meant). I then told him that which I-140 my I-485 is based on right now and if it is still on the old 140, i was wondering if it can be relinked to this newly approved I-140. He then looked at the printout of current visa bulletin ( very surprised at this, I thought he should know this) and told me" the EB1A categary still has number available; was it not last month?"
Me: Yes it was. It is available all the time since it is the first preference with highest processing priority"
I/O: can you give me your 485 and two I-140
Me: yes, here you are.
IO: you should send them a letter to request this interfiling ( he pointed at the address in the 485 notice.
Me: I have tried that but seems doesn't work.( I then showed him the 485 relink reqeust letter that was bounced back by the TSC). The TSC also attached a letter saying something like updateing my address which I didn't request.
IO then took the letter, read it and shook his head. "Give me a minute and I will be right back".
About 5 min later, he came back and told me: "good news, they will send your file to us and you will get an interview".
ME: thank you very much ( i even didn't know what that meant). I then confirm with him that " the TSC will send my case to your for final processing and I will be interviewed at here"
IO: basically Yes.howed them to h
I then pulled my family's 485s and asked him if my family's 485s can be also transferred to the local office. The IO then left and came back in a while: They will send us three cases, blah blah.....
This is the whole story and if someone has the same experience.
Should be a good news, right?
