I have serious doubts in the 485 inventory data report. It reported that there are only 2968 cases in EB-1 pending. On the other hand, in FY09 annual report, it says that there were 40,979 visas issued to EB-1.

How is this possible? Let's say EB-1 is fast and suppose the average processing time is 2 month. Then roughly speaking the inventory data should contain 2 month worth of EB-1 filing. Then the expected annual amount of EB-1 cases is 2968*6 = 17808.

If 485 inventory data report holds water, the average processing time for EB-1 must be less than a month. Is this possible at all? Granted there are some instant approvals for some celebrities. But for most EB-1 fillers, USCIS still need some more time to consider, right?
