I tried to call the USCIS customer service line but couldn’t get to talk to a real person.
In the N-400 Instructions, I saw the following:
If you are applying based on five years as a lawful permanent resident or based on three years as a lawful permanent resident married to a U.S. Citizen, you may apply for naturalization up to 90 days before you meet the "continuous residence" requirement. you must meet all other requirements at the time that you file your applications with USCIS.
Now, I got my green card in Jan 2007 and then got married in June 2007 to a U.S. citizen (he's a citizen by birth.) I’m going to take advantage of the 3-year rule (married to a US citizen). According to the above text, can I send in my application at the end of March (90 days before my wedding anniversary (which is in June this year), or do I need to wait till the end of June to mail my application?
Thank you!
