we need fingerprint for EAD renewal? kkk0072010-05-07 19:38:15

I just called USCIS and they told me: finger print is needed whenever you file a new application. Is that correct? That means I need finger print before the case is approved?
It has been more than 2.5 months already, I haven't receive the notice to do finger print yet. I can't imangine how long I still need to get the EAD renewal?
Please help me out if you did not long time ago.

If you use e-file, fingerprint is required. paper-filed, no.
