My OPT expire in May, 2010 and I transferred to another school immediately before grace period starts. I got a new I20 from the new school in May and the I20 shows transfer pending. The summer semester will begin in Jul, 2010. I cannot register and pay tuition until mid-June. I got an offer right now and my employer wants to apply for H1 in June.
My question:
1. I am not sure about my current status--has my new I20 been activated the day when I got I20 in May? or it will be activated until July?
2. when is a safe time for me to apply for H1-B? After the summer semester begins in July or after I register in Mid-June? Note: My employer wants to make sure I can get H-1B very soon,otherwise I might be kicked out...
It is hard for me to make a decision. I do not want to be required to apply for H-1B from oversea, I do not want to offend my employer either.
