Years ago I was forced to change my F1 to J1. Now I found a tenure-track faculty position in a famous university. My current J1 expires in October, so I need to get new H1 issued/sponsored by the new university.
Currently, I am almost finishing the required files to be sent to DOS.
The question is how long it will take DOS (Dept of State) to process the materials once they receive all the required files. After DOS approved my application, DOS will forward my application to USCIS. Again, how long will USCIS need to process?
These questions are critical for me to get H1 visa in order to work in the new university. If I cannot have new H1 before October, my family and I will have big problems.
