EB2, PD June 2006, Got approve notice today for whole family.

Just want to thanks all who provide priceless information that even more accurate than  my lawyer provided.

My ten cents from my case :  Keep on trying.

Situation:  I need “Green card” for my kid to apply a college(Bs/MD) by Dec 15, 2010. I never called USCIS until this month because I thought that was not useful .

The problem:  couldn’t receive the letter--“Request for Evidence”

The process :

Dec 1,  I got a e-mail  notice from USCIS at 2pm after I called for “Request for service” at 9am.

In the e-mail, it said: On November 30, 2010, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence or information in this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS.

Dec 2, called USCIS to ask what kind of evidence they need two times .One replied that the request was confidential and refused to tell me, and another one replied that she could not access to the accout with detail evidence requested.

Dec 3. Read posters in this web and knew that the evidence they frequently requested for long-waiting cases is job verification, so I asked my department chair to write a support letter for me according to Pingjiang’s poster.

1pm. Not received the letter.  I thought something wrong with the letter because in most case I should receive the letter in three days, so I went to local office(info pass) trying to get some information, but they said I should wait at least one week before asking for help.At this time,  I hoped to I might receive the letter on Saturday (Dec 4) and delivered my response overnight, so USCIS can read my evidence on Monday morning.

Dec 4. Disappointed for not receiving the letter.

Dec 6. Still not receive the letter I expected, Called USCIS again asking why the letter flied so slow, they told me I should patiently wait because of holiday season. I could request for another letter of evidence if I could not get the letter in two weeks.

Dec 7. I thought there was no chance for me to get “Green card” by Dec 15, but I did not give up. I called the office of our state senator at 4pm. The officer was very nice and sent me a request form at 5pm.

Dec 8.

9am: The request form with my situation and  support letter from my department ,and my 1-485 receipt were sent together to senator office .

10am: got a response from the senator office.

11:30am got a response from USCIS –Request for evidence review:

Your Case Status: Request for Evidence Response Review. On December 8, 2010, we received your response to our request for evidence. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response.

Dec 9. Called USCIS again to confirm if they got the evidence they need, because I did not send any evidence directly to them.

Dec 13. Got card approve notice. Called admission officer of the college to be applied  and Got a favor to apply because officially they need scan of “Green card” by deadline-Dec15.

Summary, don’t scare to call USCIS or senator. They are really nice although sometimes they can’t help.  Pray and never give up.

Pardon me if anything is not clear .

Merry Christmas to all !
