I am currently working in a university with a H1b visa. Then I jot a offer from a local industry. I can only start to work for the new company from Oct. 1 because of the new h1b cisa (from non-cap to cap transition). Now that I have a gap between the two H1Bs for about a month or two. I talked to my current boss, and he said, because of funding issue, he can only give me a part time position (which means I can extend for a "part time H1B") to fill up the gap. Now the question is:

   1. Will the part time H1B gurantee my legal status in US till Oct 1st?

   2. I have a Eb1A application pending. Will the part time H1B filing negatively affect my green card application in some ways?
