My school forgot to put my kid's name(my dependents) on my 1st I-20 when I transfered to this school. After 6 months when the school changed the old I-20s to the new SEVIS Form I-20, we found this mistakes. And my school added my kid on my new SEVIS Form I-20.
My questions are:
1. Does it mean that my kid is out of status for 6 months because she was not on my 1st I-20 form at the new school? If it is so, what should we do with INS? The school should submit some documents to INS to explain this issue?
2. Does it have any influence with my kid's status change from F2 to H4 in the future? If it is so, what should we do now to correct this mistake?
Please do help. it is very important for me and my kid!
