My parents booked 6 months round trip tickets, but the stupid immigration
officer only gave them 5 months to stay which expires even earlier than
the B2 visa.

So I have some questions to ask experience Da Xia/Qian Bei to help:
1.If I file B2 extension for them, are they eligible for a waiver of
the fee, because obviously it was due to immigration officer's miscalculation
(their poor maths).

2. If I file B2 externsion for them, what reason should I put in the written
statement? Note, I was gonna file an extension for them anyway because I wanted
them to stay less than a year to baby sit my twins.

3. Since their visa expires in May, is it a good approach if I take them to Canada, submit their old I-94, and reenter U.S. with the valid visa so that the immigration officer in the port could give them a new I-94 with the new expiration date? thus I don't need to file extension for them.

This approach has the fowllowing risk, any one can clarify for me or has the similar experience?

Currenlty I 'm on H-1b switched from F-1 status, no H1b visa.
I have Canadian Maple card/permanent resident card, however, I have never left U.S. and re-enter Canada since I changed my status, because I'm not sure if I need to apply for H-1b visa even if I stay in Canada for <=30 days.

Thanks in advance!

They made no mistake.
