I will file the I-485 pretty soon. My lawyer asked for the copies of my past three years tax returned forms. Since tax year 2003, Both my huaband and I started to file the 1040 instead of 1040NR and claimed $5000 for each of us.So does tax year 2004. Can we still claim that if we want to apply for the green card this year? Both of us received 1042-S. If not, shoud I file 1040X to correct them? Will that affect the approval of I-485. Really worry!!!
