wondering about how to keep my permanent residency while I travel out of US. This may involve 2 cases. 1) I still want to do neutralization normally (which means after 5 years from the date I got gc)
2) I don't care the neutralization, only want to keep PR as long as I can
For case 1), the requirment says I can't live outside US for more than 6 months AND live inside US at least 30 months.little confusion here. Does this mean that I can live outside US for less than 6 months EVERY YEAR of all 5 years?
For case 2) without apply re-entry permit, how long I can stay outside US for every year and still keep a valid PR (only use GC when come back US)? If it is 6 months (for example), can I stay outside CONTINUOUSLY 6 months?
