My 3-year J-1 visa will be expired next Janauary. I have got my case number from DOS, the international student office also has begun to apply another half-year extension for me last week. This week, I also sent all stuffs required for wavier to Chinese consulate.
My questions are:
Should I send required stuffs (self-explain letter and IAP66) to DOS now, or wait till my new DS-2019 form comes? It is said if DOS knows you have apply wavier, they will not allow the 3+1/2 year extension, is it ture?
