My green card in under process and hasn't passed 140, still waiting in the state (CA). I need to visit my family in China and would like to make sure I can come back before I leave. Can I get a "reentry permit" at INS (immigration office in San Jose or San Francisco) to come back from China to US, or do I have to go to Canada to get a visa to come back? Any documents are needed? How can I check this info. on the web? Anyone could help to answer this question?
