I filed two I-140 cases (EB1a & NIW) in December 2002. My NIW was approved in November 2004 after I voluntarily submitted to USCIS a reprint of the paper published after my I-140 submission. When I initially submitted my I-140 cases in 2002, I only enclosed a manuscript of this paper that was just submitted for publication. I did not submit a reprint of the paper to USCIS for my EB1a I-1`40 case. I received a notice letter about my EB1a from USCIS in early this year. In this notice, the officer who was a director considered almost all of my evidences and arguments were not enough and intended to deny my case if he did not receive any further evidences and my request to reopen my case in 30 days. Since then, I have not submitted anything to USCIS for the EB1a case. Surprisingly, I received a notice last weekend saying" After reviewing your case, your case has been reopend and you will be notified once a dicision is made." Today I recieved a approval notice of my EB1a case. I think my situation is very rare. It is funny.

I prepared and submitted both of my EB1a & NIW cases by myself without hiring any lawyer. I submitted my NIW-linked I-485 December 2004 and have done finger print this month.
