I got an posdoc offer from a university. However, only J1 visa will be provided. Is it better to enter USA with a B1 visa and then change to H1, for I hold a B1/2 visa which is valid for 1 year? If I enter USA with B1 visa and then file H1 petition, when can I work? Can I work after the file is received ?
Would some one give me some suggestion? Thanks a lot!
