becomes much lower than expected before. The USA president, Donald Trump, has accepted the invitation of Kim Jong Un of North Korea to have a face to face meeting, although the time and place are to be determined. This news strongly signals that the tension between US and NK has been much eased, although Kim did not promise he would give up nuke and long range ballistic missile programs. However, the Korea Peninsular is becoming a peaceful land for a while, at least in the next couple of months.
As I pointed out before, the South Korean President, Mr Moon, is a wise president who does not like to see a war take place in the peninsular, because he knows the consequence of a modern war that is not akin to the 1950s Korean War. Now, NK has H-bomb and atomic arsenals as well as has well-developed missile systems that are real threats to South Korea and its neighbor cross the strait.
On the other side though, President Trump is a smart guy who is seeking the best interest for America and her allies via a dialogue with Mr Kim who is afraid of his regime unstable or removed by the US army and allies troops. Mr Kim is now feeling urgent to meet with President Trump, otherwise he may be removed from his power.
A meeting place could be in Moscow where President Trump is going to meet Mr Kim, and to have a chat with Russian President Putin at the same time so that the US-Russia relationship can be improved. Or, in Seoul, SK, so that Mr Kim can easily go by coach. Or, it is very kind to President Trump that he will arrange a meeting with Mr Kim at the White House, Washington D.C. A final option is Beijing, China, where both President Trump and Kim will be treated well, because Donald is the great friend of China President Xi Jinping, and Mr Kim may have a chance to have a brief talk with Xi. Why not in Tokyo, Japan? you may ask. The answer is simple that Mr Kim is the great grandson of his grandfather who talked to Mr Kim that the crime and invasion committed by Japanese in Korea would never be forgot! Also, Mr Kim does not like Japanese iconic food - sushi, because he always has diarrhea after eating sushi. He does not want the meeting in Tokyo.
