A signal for reunion of the Mainland China and Taiwan?
China President Xi JinPing delivered the 2020 New Year speech as usual he did in the past few years, but he seems to forget mentioning the Taiwan people in his new year regards this time. Does this indicate that 2020 would be the year of reunifying the lands cross the Taiwan strait?
In ten days, Taiwan district will have a leader - either the current governor Miss Tsai, or Mayor Han. There is No doubt that whoever is he or she would not be willing to rejoin the Mainland China to complete reunion of the separated lands as a same nation, suggesting that it be impossible to complete the reunion process via a peaceful negotiation between the two governments - Beijing and Taipei.
President Xi did not mention Taiwan at all in his new year speech. Did he not recall to say it. No! He sends a very clear message to all people cross the strait and beyond that the reunification process has been initiated by his new year speech.
