据悉，“尼米兹”号航母打击群已于7月18日穿越马六甲海峡进入印度洋。 在进入印度洋前不久， 美军“尼米兹”号航母打击群和“里根”号航母打击群刚刚在南海开展了本月内第二次在这一海域的双航母军演。美国目前共拥有10艘排水量约10万吨的“尼米兹”级核动力航空母舰，每艘都能够搭载80到90架战斗机，目前美军有2艘“尼米兹”级航母正在印太地区执行部署任务。

Unconfirmed reports of USS Nimitz reaching close to Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Indian Navy is already doing exercise in this area. Additional resources deployed by US in SCS including B-1 bombers.
