美国国家安全顾问Jake Sullivan在白宫简报会上告诉记者,美国对喀布尔机场的混乱场面负有部分责任,因为数千人试图逃脱塔利班夺取的政权。
他说,拜登政府愿意与澳大利亚和其他西方国家合作,撤离面临塔利班迫害的公民和弱势的阿富汗人。他说:“我们要对在阿富汗的盟友以及合作伙伴负责。我们渴望和澳大利亚合作,帮助澳大利亚公民和其他人士离开。”
喀布尔机场已重新开放,过去几个小时内有九架美军撤离飞机抵达。
