其实随着年龄渐长，我们都有过破灭的梦想，出卖我们的朋友，不公平的上司，以及生活中种种其他的挫折。不过人过的快乐与否，最重要的其实是心态。高官大亨们未必快乐，屡受挫折的，仍然在努力的小人物们，未必不快乐。既然都是这么一生，干吗不调整好自己的心态，快乐的过呢？况且，机会总是被有准备的人抓住。即便经济低迷，即便看不到黑暗的尽头，为那一天做准备的人，才会在来到的时候，终于做到自己想要做的事。颓废低迷，是对任何人都没有任何好处的，不是吗？与大家共勉。:)

Viktor Frankl(1905 - 1997)是一个心理学家，集中营的幸存者，以及战后四十年logotheropy的创始人和倡导者。Logos means "meaning" in Greek. Frankl's theory holds that our primary drive in life is not pleasure, as freud maintained, but the discovery and pursuit of what we personally find meaningful.
1942年，当危险笼罩欧洲的犹太人的时候，他生活在维也纳，结婚不久，年轻的妻子刚刚怀孕。他刚刚完成了关于心理治疗的Logotheropy的手稿。也因为出色的学术成就得到了美国签证。但是因为担心年迈的父母，他决定留下来。
1942年九月25日，他们全家都被关进集中营。他与母亲和妻子分离，但是仍然可以偷偷的关照父亲，因为他们一开始被关在同一个集中营里。到1945年4月27日，德国战败，集中营被解放，他经历了900多个黑暗的日子，随时都有死亡的危险，天天看到跟自己同样处境的人被处死，或是消沉而至放弃，或是变得摇尾乞怜，有点机会就仗势欺人。他三次被转送到别的集中营，其中有臭名昭著的Auschwitz集中营，就在被解放的前一天，他还差点送命。这些日子里，他一直不知道亲人的生死。
可他活过来了，因为他坚信乐观的对待痛苦是他唯一仅剩的自由。生命中的痛苦如果无可避免，那么坚强的战胜痛苦就给未来不痛苦的生命带来了意义。当他自由的走出集中营，他发现他的父母妻子都死了。他仍然要活下去，他重写了Logotheropy，然后出版了Man's Search for Meaning, 这本书帮助了很多人，他的工作治疗了很多人。1997年，他去世的时候，是92岁高龄，他的一生给很多人带来好的影响。他的书，他的工作，会继续影响未来的人们。
想想看，抛除幸运的成分，如果他不是很坚强的告诉自己要忍耐，要渡过困境以求新生，他的生命也许就结束在1942。这本书，让我留着泪读完，也让我会心的微笑。他的一生，是给人启发的一生。让人可以看淡自己生活中的一些困难，心中的一些郁闷，而去思考：我的人生的意义是什么？我要用尽所有力量追求的是什么？
